if your a treen carver (wooden utensils) build the finished item in milk for a couple hours and it will absorb the casein as a wood protector. it's what Swedish woodcarver do

milk is a complex protein: composed of casein, protein part & lactose, the sugar part. so you can be allergic to the protein or lactose intolerant. many confuse the two.
