Which of these five beaches held the bloodiest battle of D-Day, June 6, 1944?
Correct answer: Omaha

J
Rommel was admired by both his own troops and the allies, he wasn’t a fan of Hitler and his cronies or their barbaric plans, if he hadn’t committed suicide the Nazis would have got to him. The Sacrifice that was made by the men on the beaches and those working behind the enemy lines should never be forgotten they died to free the world from hatred and despotism.

Jettles
J, very well said! If only the world was still free of hatred and despotism, many are allowing them to rise again. We must be vigilant, and fight to suppress fascism!

Rommel, Googd observation.😁

J, Rommel only committed suicide because he was forced to by Hitler’s goons, ie his family was spared…as was his reputation as a great hero of Germany.

Lionessa
Talaith, A British battle? Are you kidding me? If it had been left up to the British (or whatever you call yourself), Operation Overlord would never have taken place, and you would be goose-stepping today.

Lionessa
The word "D-Day" is used by military planners to describe the date of any important military operation. The actual name of the Allied invasion of France in 1944 was Operation Overlord. Overlord was, and is, the largest movement of man and machine in human history.
