ElsaBloominthal2nd
Billy the Kid born Henry McCarty, aka William H. Bonney, also Henry Atrim or Kid Atrim. Billy was a gambler, robber, cattle rustler and horse thief. He was attributed with eight murders. Sheriff Pat Garrett put him in jail after "the kid" had been convicted of murder. He escaped from jail and Garrett shot and killed him. He died at 21 years of age.

Many people have a tough life but don't resort to criminal activity. He dug his own grave. It is sad he died so young.

Brushy Bill Roberts claimed to be Billy the Kid, lived in Hico, Texas and died short of his 91st birthday of a heart attack. There is a Billy the Kid museum in Hico, Texas. Personally, I dont believe he was Billy the Kid...but I could be wrong.

SizableSatellite1, just visited Hico last month. Then went by his grave in Hamilton, Texas. Lots of compelling evidence .. .. ..

EliteLawyercat57024, you'd rather he had time to kill more innocent people?

I recall reading that in those days when someone like Billy the Kidd was killed they displayed the body and guns. Not that time. They covered the whole thing up. Makes one wonder.

I believe he died of a heart attack. pat Garrett wanted the reward money, Billy wanted to live, they probably made a deal and set it up. Back then that wouldn't have hard to do.

where on earth did this info come from? it's reported he shot 21 men, although that's not true either. I don't believe Garret killed Billy, I think he went to Colorado and lived peaceful on his brother ranch.

Shot him from the shadows of a dark room. Billy only had a knife.

SizableSatellite1, You aren't wrong. BTK could read, write, and was fluent in Spanish. Brushy was illiterate and could not speak Spanish. BTK was about 6 inches taller than Brushy and his chin was long and pointed. Brushy's chin was square.

Sweet Senior, OR maybe he died in the 20th. LOL
freegal1776
Sweet Senior, I believe Pat Garrett would have died sometime in the 19th century, so it is very likely that he never met the serial killer BTK. LOL

SizableSatellite1, According to the movie, Young Guns (II?), there IS that legend.

AtavisticCentaur6626, I think Butch Cassidy died of old age in Spokane too. It's about the only thing to to there. 😊
