Which US president had won a Pulitzer prize prior to taking office?

Anthony
If only we could have the likes of him again.

Anthony , amen!

Turns out he had a ghost writer for the book. He would never be cheered for his antics with women in the White House now. Poor Jackie. But he was a great president. it goes to show, you can be great for the country without being perfect.

ChewyGazelle68623
Anthony , JFK ROCKED!!! RIP!!

SparkyChaz2018
Player Ejag, Try a real research tool that is reliable, not Wikipedia. JFK wrote Profiles in Courage in the 1950's, while recovering from serious back surgery. Jackie actually did much of the work.

OldLlama121

10bwc, I have read that towards the end he valued his wife more and. Both her advice and as a wife. I think that's one reason she was so traumatized by his assassination. Even though she was brought clean clothes to put on while still at the hospital she refused to change. She said she wanted the country to see his blood, the price he paid for being our president.

Qatwalk, The enemy in Vietnam was the North Vietnamese Army--NVA. The Viet Cong were South Vietnamese collaborators who fought on the side of the North. They strapped bombs to children and old women and had them walk into groups of Marines and blow themselves up. The only way to identify Northern people from Southern "friendlies" was by uniform, so if they took it off, they could blend in anywhere.

Terry
he was (is) my favorite president of all time

Qatwalk, no. Roosevelt became President at 42 when McKinley was assassinated in 1901 and Roosevelt, the elected VP at the time, assume the presidency. He was elected President in 1904 at age 45.

Qatwalk
Apachetears, I thought the Viet Cong started the Vietnamese conflict.

Qatwalk
Wasn't Teddy Roosevelt only 42 when elected?

Apachetears
