fyi Yorkshire is four separate counties East North South and West Yorkshire. Historically Yorkshire was made up of three areas called ridings, the name being a corruption of the Norse word for third.These were East, North and West ridings of Yorkshire, these names were in use until 1974 when administrative changes brought about the current names.
