What divides the Earth into the east and west hemisphere?
Correct answer: Prime meridian

The best way to remember the difference is the equator is like a circle cutting the earth in roughly half, while the prime meridian goes up and down like a line north to south...thought that might help someone how to remember the fact.

So then Portugal, Ireland, most of Spain, parts of England, France, and Africa, and a little part of the Mediterranean Sea are all in the Western Hemisphere… Seems like Greenwich is not a very logical place for the Prime Meridian.
