Absolutely delicious but has to be eaten ripe near where it grows since it is too fragile to transport and spoils quickly. Tastes like a ripe melon with the texture of a ripe pear.

The cashew industry needs an immediate reformation, yet worldwide consumption grows. In many locales, but particularly Vietnam, forced labor and exploitive child labor is used to extract the nuts and exposure to toxic agents is a regular occurrence among these poverty-stricken workers. I've boycotted cashews until I'm told conditions have improved.
