Ellie, Actually, it's not a needle holder. A needle holder has fine cross-hatched grooves etched into the jaws so it holds the needle at any angle. A hemostat has horizontal grooves in the jaw - the needle would only be oriented 90 degrees to the jaws and would tend to twist in them.
