Who is in the picture?

It is a shame that the present government is undoing so much of the Ataturk philosophy and vision that created modern Turkey.

Kane , to my generation of Brits (born 1944) he was very well known & considered, as the writer says, as the founder of the Turkish state, that played an important role through the 20th Century.

What an accomplished man! In spite of increased interest in Middle Eastern and Asian affairs/history when I was at university and required courses in these subjects, I never heard of this Turkish hero. How did that happen?
