penawareof, That is actually due to a concept called resonance. The note that Ella was singing is the same note that you would hear if you tapped the glass. This is called the glass’ natural frequency. Whenever the applied force matches the natural frequency, the effect amplifies and the object breaks apart. This is the same thing that happens when an earthquake takes down one building, while the one next to it remains intact.
