I wonder if this had anything to do with the commercial where Ella Fitgerald broke the glass while hitting her high note.

constantgamer0421
Ravers, music and hard drop bass lovers should know the answer to this question....really, anyone who thinks logically should.

Tony, Well... in the Bible it says that Joshua and company used ram's horns and matched around the walled city of Jericho and felled the walls with the sound. Reading this makes that seem plausible. Great info, great game!

Flac
Is that why some people can push others away when they talk ?

I had to go and look this up - found it very hard to believe - but yes, it's a real thing! The science is still in its infancy, so far only suspending small polystyrene beads in the air by using sound. So probably not used to build pyramids! 🤣

So far I've got everything wrong. (That's probably because I'm on hard level.) 😂

penawareof, That is actually due to a concept called resonance. The note that Ella was singing is the same note that you would hear if you tapped the glass. This is called the glass’ natural frequency. Whenever the applied force matches the natural frequency, the effect amplifies and the object breaks apart. This is the same thing that happens when an earthquake takes down one building, while the one next to it remains intact.

English
Should keep this in mind for physics class.

Bill C
I completely guessed on that

Zainon Monza
yes, I agree we do learn lots of new things here
