Sadly, more people protested against the removal of his show than those who wanted it gone. You would think otherwise, but people seemed to realize how dumb it was to destroy a beloved TV actor over something trivial. Yet, he was booted off anyway. He was able to return mainly because people in the business, who had interacted with him, liked him. He apparently is a very nice, genuine guy.

The facts here are wrong. He reappeared at the MTV Music awards in 1989 and got a standing ovation that almost brought him to tears. It was Right at the beginning of the show.

Undaunted Chi, when I think “Beloved Actor”, I’m on the Clint Eastwood, Sean Connery, Michael Douglas, Steven Segal, Sam Elliott, Tom Berenger wavelength! As u can see, just off the top of my head, Pee Wee doesn’t get a nod in my top 6. Much less in my top 100! Fortunately or not, I haven’t the time or inclination to list everyone that I feel is “above him” in the BELOVED category. Whether or not had played “pocket pool” in a booth, is way out of my qualifying factors for BELOVEDS!!
