Is it true that in 1999 President Bill Clinton granted a pardon to Henry O. Flipper?

Imagine the hate he had to face and the guts it took to get through. Also the hate from the classmates that finished behind him! Then being an officer in charge of whites from the south. I think there was a movie about his time at West Point.

Mike Olson, your point is well taken except until WWII, the army was segregated. Essentially, he would never have been able to give orders to any white officers even if he outranked them. Nonetheless, as you say, the hatred and animosity he would have faced would have been horrendous.

If there isn't a movie about him, there damn well should be.
