I stood next to Drew on the corner of 4th ave and 13th here in nyc. She was with her rockstar bf (dont remember his name) and their dog. Saw her a month b4 at live taping of Daily show with Jon Stewart. She was so nice. During "commercial breaks" she would get up and go into the audience and talk to ppl. I didn't get to speak to her cuz i was in the back. She's way nicer and prettier in person. I told my date this and Drew heard and looked at me and smiled. Class act all the way!

WaldoLydeker, Right? But it was Flynn upon whom the prank was pulled. Niven and another mutual friend sat Barrymore in his favorite chair in Errol's living room, put a glass of whisky in his hand and hid. Apparently Flynn ran screaming from the house! :D

The Barrymore's are an acting dynasty going back to the early 19th century maybe even further.

I can't believe David Niven and Errol Flynn snatched his dead body for a joke. Read "The Moon's a Balloon" by Niven.

dolphinmn, No, he was the grandfather of Drew. John D. Barrymore was the unseen father of Drew, and Lionel Barrymore was Drew's great-grandfather. Her father was never in her life at all. Drew was born of John's third wife.

dolphinmn
Denise Lentz, great grandfather

Tina's twin
in highschool, our senior cp english class affectionately referred to Mr. Barrymore as "Brother John". just our way of letting our teacher know we appreciated the old black & white Shakespeare films
