Loved her on "The Big Valley" and in the 1971 thriller "A Taste of Evil".

I am a big time old movie and tv show buff. This picture was taken of a young Stanwyk; possibly around the time of the Capes movie John Doe. I do not see much of a resemblance to the Barbara years later starring on The Big Valley. The years in between the movie and the show, seem to have affected her No matter her age, she was a beautiful, strong, independent, and intelligent woman at a time in history, when women were not suppose to be. I to this day admire her.

classy lady!

One of her lesser known movies was "Trooper Hook", with Joel McCrea. A captive of the Apaches, who had a son she would not give up. Spent a lot of the movie, not saying anything. For an actress that is hard to do. She must express herself through actions and jesters. She did it wonderfully.

I watch Christmas in Connecticut, in which she stars, almost every year. It's hilarious.

Who woulda guessed she was bi? Read Scotty Bowers "Full Service". Nevertheless, she was marvelous. I can't think of one of her films that was lousy. Batted 1000.

She was not only gorgeous she was also a great actress. She was a wonderful and powerful woman who also had a big heart

Player #185561, what more did they expect of her? It says her career was short......AND it says her career spanned 60 years. If I were to work 60 years...I can't retire till I'm 75. I would be arranging an "industrial accicent" before then!
