Really, all that for a football game??? Seems the money could have been better spent to help homelessness, hunger, or any one of a number of actual issues. Sometimes I wonder about the priorities in this country.

All critics are right and money gets things done. But put politics and money together and unreasonableness emerges. Jobs and work interests should be top priority but the greed of men who are already rich is hard to understand. No one takes money to afterlife. Use wisely now. ! ! !

I am a US citizen and agree that funding should have come from the private sector. I am all patriotic and care deeply for my country and fellow Americans, as many are sports lovers here. However, this was on the extreme side no matter how you want to explain...We need to be this extreme when it comes to our elders and others who are many homeless and most have no one in the world. I cannot get over how we treat our elders here who have worked and helped paved the greatness of our nation we all love.

Player #97184361, The money was spent to help improve the economy of the local businesses and residents, as well as to create a "landmark" that would attract tourists and travelers to spend money in the region for years to come!

Littlebit, Whilst the sentiment is commendable it’s just another moan that money would be better spent elsewhere. In this , as in most of these cases if the money was not spent on the expensive bridge it would not have been made available anywhere else .

Littlebit, just like when cities who host the Olympics they always try to improve their cities by making dramatic improvements and at the same time ignore the homeless and elderly hoping that they don't get in the way and embarrassed the cities when tourists come to watch the Olympics
