At least mention that the role was played by Amanda Blake, a fine actress, who was active in animal rights later in life, IIRC. Matt & Kitty had one of the great enigmatic 'will they or won't they' relationships. They were both independent, but there was clearly a connection between them. Dennis Weaver's character, Chester deserves at least a mention, if you're going to talk about his replacement, Festus.
