Actually, the 2 moons in a month IS a misunderstanding of the 13 moons/yr or 4 full moons in a season. The former has gained much popularity but both are technically correct. So while I hate seeing Wikipedia as a citation, you can find all the same information I found at more credible sites suggesting exactly what I've just said.
