the way the war was fought from Washington isn't the war that was fought in Korea. when they were sent into battle, it was often suicide. but commanders in chief & generals think soldiers are cannon fodder. that is why the song was chosen, and the lyrics are well written

A lot of you will not like me for this, but I hated MASH! I was a young kid when it was on and my dad loved that and Hogan’s Hero’s! Hated both lol!

Suicide numbers are rising, as are people with insomnia. And a few celebrties cases have doctors scared to prescribe anything. Or enough. Ive woken up three times during surgery and a colonoscopy. Talk about nightmares! Coming fully awake, pulling out a chest tube and see your own cut open abdomen during a hysterectomy will cause them. I broke colonoscopy Doc's nose with a backhanded swing. No control with the pain. Id given him documentation beforehand of my tolerances. I've thought of suicide more than once.

Frankie, many times. I was an EMT. Saw some 18 wheeler vs car, and one time a pedestrian. Police and EMTs have a high suicide rate. Lost a daughter in law and a son in law that way.

Sassy, one of the episodes was about a man who wanted to die. They gave him a strong medication, that but him into a long, heavy sleep, as stress seemed his main problem. I was young, and a cutter before it was a known thing. They had a wake for him, someone sang the song. I was very upset. Didnt see all of it.

I read the book years ago and that was the theme!

Angie, I agree with you. I didn't like the original movie nor the TV version. Hogan's Heroes was less offensive. But any show that needs a laugh track is never funny or any good.

This was my Dad's favorite show and he always used to sing the theme song to me so I knew the name of it. I know that sounds weird but he liked to sing so it's a nice memory.
