The question ( once again) is wrong. NOT a city. Cities ( almost always) have a cathedral which is the 'seat' of a Bishop. As it later says, it was a market town.

yes, it should read Stratford upon Avon, but it gets shortened. we live just a few miles. very pretty town with the lovely River Avon running through.
