sorry that comment went before I finished.!!! as I said shamrock is a legendary symbol of Christianity dating from 5thC when Patrick used it to explain The Holy Trinity. Long story, lots of legens and untruths. However the Harp is the official symbol of Ireland and is on all government and official documents and of course Guinness and Aer Lingus.
