Burned Out Bob, with respect, you are wrong , binary means two states. digital means of ten states, it comes from digit, ten fingers. The correct terms are analogue (continuous), and discrete (individual, separate).

Good question and answer Silverman. I teach that digital means only two states in logic. High or Low. Analog can be anywhere between high and low. That's my intro for new trainees.
