TQOP24, I had this, but now love going places, but I have to feel healthy when I go otherwise I may backslide.

People are why I have this, not open spaces. If I don't go out amongst strangers, I am safe, of course there's the off chance of someone breaking into my home, but I would have the upper hand in such a situation; the percentage rate of that is minimal.

I have this as well. I developed it when I turned 40. I rarely leave my house and if I do, my husband must be with me.

I use to have it really bad but now as long as I am with my wife I can go to certain places. I don't think I will ever be able to do Disneyland.

Ditto, Klover. I developed this during the menopause, but gradually found it could be overcome by determinedly thinking of pleasant things whenever I had to go out. Was eventually very relieved when it was overcome in this way.
