my father was at Pearl Harbor when it was attacked. He was commissioned in the field. A captain. Shut down twice. On one occasion he was fished out of the water and brought onto an aircraft carrier will they gave him a can of beans and a blanket and said don't mess up the kitchen we're due for inspection. It's not like in the movies kids

My father was at Pearl Harbor when it was attacked. He was on the other side of the island eating breakfast. He was commissioned in the field to the rank of Captain and was a pilot.

Donna, yes they do bury veterans of the bombing there. They ask everyone except the gathered family members to leave the area. It is Holy ground and overwhelmingly solemn.

it wasn't until I saw the movie Pearl Harbor that I learned of the retaliation mission the Bombing of Tokyo. I wonder why that wasn't in history books? I've also heard that in Japanese schools, they never teach that Japan started the pearl harbor attack.
