I actually met him once. Very nice and gracious man. Still wish he had run for President. I think he would have made a good one. I think his reluctance to just rush into war would have been a great asset and saved many soldiers, sailors and Marines.

Player #298615, He probably thought that it would signal the end of his life. Look at JFK and he wasn't even "of color." Brilliant man and I especially respected his view that military intervention should be the last resort.

Player #298615, he was a diplomat not a warrior. He showed his weak leadership by leading numerous international appeasement missions, and would have 'reluctantly' demonstrated the same tepid and soft approach as President. Better he be sidelined to make comments and pontificate rather than be actually obligated to be decisive and committed to American security.

I always thought he was a man to follow anywhere. Would have been an exceptional president. I got into an argument with him over the phone because I wanted to make sure a friend got home safely during a blizzard. I was her ride and wouldn't leave her without talking to her. He hadn't introduced himself and was assuring me he'd see her safely home himself. She was processing his orders.
