I like the first film better I do not care for the way the wife character was developed in the second, played by Doris Day. Peter Lorre was in both.

His cruel treatment of Tippi Hedren during filming of "The Birds" was evil. I loved the movie.

Player #1111308, Hitch showed he had a comedic sense of humor when showing up for his cameos. Truly a masterful director in every sense of the word. Favs: North by Northwest, Strangers on a Train, and.....of course....The Birds. Spoiler alert: Watch for him as he exits the pet shop with two turtle doves as Tippy Hedrin walks in...Hilarious!

Canis Lupus, Yes. He was a sexual predator, he wouldn’t release Tippi from her 7 year contract. He told her she would never be in another film, and he made sure she wasn’t. Just because she refused his advances.

Alfred Hitchcock appeared in his own films as an extra. Next time you see a Hitchcock movie, try to locate him on the screen.

MrVain, why would you think that they would be identical? it would be more odd to remake a movie and not change anything. What would be the point of that?

Adella Dratianos, Hitchcock did it first. Which is why King did it as well.

What's really wild about Hitchcock is watching a silent era film he directed that's a romantic comedy of all things. I have a box set of many of his pre-WWII era films made while he still resided in England.

he also did 2 versions of 'The 39 Steps' I believe. I have a 1930s version made while he still resided in England. I believe he made a Hollywood version in the 1950s as well.
