What is the capital city of Puerto Rico?
Correct answer: San Juan
WeirdScientist1
The island of Peurto Rico was named by mistake. The island was supposed to be named San Juan and the city of San Juan was to be named Puerto Rico (rich port). There was apparently a mistake when the original maps were created but it was never changed.

beasticall, I am from Puerto Rico and you are right, we (PR) are a country, a nation culturally diferent than US, as I mentioned in other comments, and most importantly we feel that way. The relationship with US is a legal and political one, as a territory, but we don't live or feel like the american people from USA. Culturally and emotionally we are a whole other country.

Easy question because I have a large map of the USA and the world on my wall in my study. Both maps also were on my study walls as I was growing up.

It was called Puerto Rico until the government started to steal money and sent us in a bad economic situation.
But then again, I guess that has happened all around the world.

Evil does not exist in itself. Evil is the absence of God in the heart of man.

Tesskitty, you are a commonwealth of the united states like Massachusetts is a commonwealth of the USA. In 1934 congress established commonwealth status to Philippines in route to independence. As for Puerto Rico I think it should remain a U.S. territory
