Sloths, moths, and algae have a symbiotic relationship. The sloth's fur is absorbent and provides shelter and water for the algae. The moths, which breed in the sloth's waste, take nutrients from secretions on the sloth's body, then die and increase the nitrogen in the fur, helping the algae. In turn, the algae provides the sloth with camouflage. I am fascinated by symbiotic relationships in nature.
