Who sang "The Ballad of Thunder Road" in the movie Thunder Road?

Well, since it was a picture of Mitchum, I took a wild "guess"!

The movie was filmed on rural roads near Leicester, NC. Some of those roads my grandfather engineered.

nimblemoon, I just thought it was there because Mitchum stared in the movie.

"There was thunder, thunder over Thunder Road. Thunder was his engine and white Lightning was his load. There was moonshine, moonshine to quench the devil's thirst. Lawmen swore they'd get him but the devil got him first.
