As to why Jehovah is inccorect is because there is no letter J in either Hebrew (Old Testament) or Greek (New Testament). However, in the guttural nature of Hebrew, the letter Y sounds very similar to the English letter J. Incidentally, the name Jesus is a transliteration of YESHUA which means salvation.
