Considering how much plastic winds up in the ocean, it's a shame we still use so much of it.

Player #5621402, No, the problem is not the buying, but the disposal methods which need researching and regulating. There are many purposes for which plastic is essential, and which people are trying to ban. Eg plastic straws. Paper straws are no use for warm drinks - the wax coating on the paper melts and you drink it! So-called reusable straws are too wide, and impossible to clean properly - they are not sterile, so unsafe fot anyone with health problems such as myself.

I think any company that produces plastic or wraps its consumer items in plastic should be directly responsible for disposing of that plastic – and not by chucking it in the ocean!
