Jay North suffered so much abuse by his aunt, while starring in this show. Yet, he managed to be a very talented child actor. Unfortunately, he has never been able to recover from the abuse.

I remember Dennis's counterpart Minnie the Minx! Children used to exchange The Beano and The Dandy - in those days, very few parents would indulge their kids by buying them both comics

Player #11503902, people who have to abuse other people or animals are inhumane

Alix
I think the confusion is that although both strips had the same name, the characters had different personalities and the dog was only in one of them. It was a coincidence that they had been given the same rhyming name.

I read years ago that Hank Ketchem based his comic story on his son and his wife Alice.
