The homeless situation in Silicon Valley is a by product of overinflated rent based on the technology companies' income. Not all employees who work for tech companies are well-paid, but to keep them there, their rents are subsidized and a lot of the companies feed them at work and provide childcare. I know... lived there for 17 years.
