Many, many years ago, I was on my hands and knees in the dirt, searching for an old property line. I was moving along, pulling old strands of barbed wire fencing out of the ground. I had my head down, and when I looked back up, there was, coiled in front of me, the biggest Water Moccasin snake I've ever seen. He had his head held high, and when I looked at him, he opened his mouth wide. It was white inside, which is why this snake is also called, "cottonmouth." I froze for a second, then started crawling slowly backward. My heart was beating a mile a minute. When I looked back, he was gone.

The Snake 🐍 is one of my favourite reptiles and my favourite 4 species of snakes include Green Anaconda, Boa Constrictor, Indian Cobra and Prairie Rattlesnake.
