I loved watching the Monkees on TV when I was a little kid. And even now, hearing a tune by the Monkees puts me in a good mood as I sing along.

My favorite Monkees song is a cut from their fourth or fifth album called, "Zor and Zam." It starts off with, "The King of Zor, he called for a war, and the King of Zam, he answered." The last verse says, "They met on the battlefield, banner in hand, They looked out across the vacant land. They counted the missing, one upon one, none upon none, The war, it was over before it begun. Two little kings playing a game, They gave a war, and nobody came."

I got to meet Davy Jones once. He was as nice and down to earth as he seemed to be on TV.

they played music much better than trying to act on the Corny show, but it was fun, it was the 60s, and the monkee mobile was super cool.

The lyrics here are WRONG! It's not "AND not a trace". The correct lyric is "NOT a trace....NO DOUBT in my mind." There are other errors, too. Someone else correctly pointed out that a line starts, "Yeah," which is correct. Good catch!

The Monkees were my Mum's favourite band - she was obsessed as a teenager! Their songs always remind me of her. <3 I miss her so much now that she's gone. I even chose one of their songs for her funeral.
