My Grama is 89 and has never had a tetanus shot. And she has never gotten it. Which is crazy cause she lives on a large piece of land used to have horses and has always worked her own fences! She has been cut and scraped too many times to count!Lucky Lady

i lost a dog to tetnus. It's so tare in dogs and cats they don't have a vaccine for them. It was so horrible.

i had lockjaw when i was a kid. Couldn't close my mouth for a couple days. i learned how to swallow without closing my mouth. u don't know how hard that is, til u try it.

Pchblsom, tetanus is found in all areas. You can get it from a sliver. It is also found in ALL soil even if not occupied by animals. Tetanus shot are needed every 10 years if you get an infection you may get a booster depending on the injury
