She lived during WWI (1914-1918) and WWII (1939-1945). Since she was German, I think she met Hitler, but was not a Nazi. She live amid a lot of tumultuous history!

EliteLawyercat57024, although she detested Hitler's policies, they had one mutual thing in common, they were both scarred for life (terribly), by World War l as anyone did that was alive in Germany at that time.
