What I marvel at is that Buggles singer Trevor Horn was singer for super group YES for a time.

I don't consider The Buggles one hit wonders. To this day, I still listen to, " I Love You Miss Robot." Does anyone remember that one? I Love it!

Player #8977743, I've heard this before, they also said that's why you should use show exit. even if you continue playing that level (and don't use the exit) the points are higher. idk if it's true, but if so, it explains a lot!

bribiepete, I never heard of the Buggles until I watched them on MTV that first weekend. I remember we were moving into our first apartment, my best friend and I, and they repeated that first 12 hours over and over until they got new content on Sunday or Monday morning. Either way we loved it bc it was brand new and different from HBO and Showtime! lol.

The final paragraph in the answer above is incorrect. Upon its release in 1979, the song was a worldwide hit, including top 10 in USA and No.1 in Australia, Japan and several other countries. In Australia, we saw the video clip often in 1979, and surely it aired that year all around the world.

Era Vulgaris, I strongly disagree. First off, the record industry is long from being dead. Also, to your point, if something would have killed the industry, it would be illegal downloads. If anything, streaming saved the industry by at least paying the artists when they are listened to. And no, it's not a meager income, as most people would have you believe. The internet gives artists who would have no chance of signing a record contract in the old days a platform to reach the entire world. I think streaming is a logical and even desirable next step in music.
