When I was a soldier in Germany in the 90's the German contract workers on the "kaserne" enjoyed being invited to our dinners. Was a great time.

Aradlaw, In the states, ( American ) its ALWAYS the last thursday in November and in canada, it's the first monday in October. ( or the first weekend ) because alot of people celebrate it on the sunday before the holiday Monday. Im from California, but was born in a Air Force military hospital in Missouri, i married a Canadian, which he was also in the military, in 1979

Turkey is good meat, especially when you have some left over, it makes a good salad. why not enjoy turkey dinner any time of year? The holiday weekend is paid for workers, and some off time.
