LionQueenT0727, No they didn't. They sentenced convicts to transportation, they didn't open prisons, asylums and poor houses. No instructions were given about taking land. At a time when it was considered the norm to create colonies on newly discovered lands, it wasn't considered wrong. We know different now, but it is unjust to to apply today's morality to that of 200 years ago.
