It’s strange to see the UK had national minimum wage legislation in 1909 .
I don’t recall seeing anything on this until much more recently. And I’m thinking that the Labour Party claims to have introduced it .
I don’t think they were in power until much much later than 1909

Player #7850667, Minimum wage was meant to be a starting point in the working world. i.e. starter jobs. Education, through putting one's head in the books, enables a person to move up from the bottom. IMHO.

Minimum wage in the US is too low for most workers to survive on. Some states like Oregon and Washington minimum wage is higher than national mandate.
