DustyMephit94864, That is what happened. They let him work, then once they got what they wanted, they through him away. Alan was a genius and at the same level as Tesla and Einstein. What were the possibilities we lost at his death? What more could he have invented? What other benefits from his inventions are now lost forever? We'll never know...

Brilliant guy. After all he's done and all of his war effort, he suffered great injustice!

DustyMephit94864, the way he was treated was an absolute disgrace. His contribution probably shortened the way by five years, it certainly saved thousands of lives. To then be hounded and driven to suicide shows real gratitude. His so called pardon was too little too late and, in my opinion, just adding insult to injury. He isn't the one who did wrong (except in the eyes of the law). I voted for him to be on the new £50 now because honouring him is vastly overdue and, in my opinion, outweighed the lack of female representation on our currency.

They (all the allied) worked to defeat the enemies . Does it really matter who gets the credit. I say ‘well done’ to all who fought . Thanks to all for your service.

DustyMephit94864, The hormone therapy robbed him of his outstanding intellect and made him feel unwell. That's how it was portrayed in the film "The imitation Game."

mustlovedogz, USN Captain Garrison captured U-505 and got an enigma machine long after Turing's group at Bletchly had decoded it. The Brits had already captured an enigma from a German weather ship a year or two before. But neither the Brits nor the Tanks trusted each other enough to share that info.
