I’ve seen this in my parents as they lost their identities to Alzheimer’s. Tragic and heartbreaking. My aunt is now in this stage of Alzheimer’s. She comes unglued realizing what she’s losing.

lt must be related to abandonment issues.

As only child that both parents worked always...did not have common childhood & have felt this.
