Who was the artist that drew the Vitruvian Man?

I've see this in books and examination rooms but never knew it had a name.

Always wondered where this came from wow 1400's got love the human mind.

I have a copy of this print on my wall. People never really look at his face, do it and you'll see a whole new aspect to the image.

This drawing is also a solution to a classic mathematical problem: squaring the circle. Essentially, the problem states that it is impossible to find a square that has the same area as a circle. Using Vitruvian Man, DaVinci came close to solving that problem. This drawing also shows the presence of Golden Ratio, a ratio which is present abundantly in nature and is considered to make things symmetrical, hence beautiful.

I need to take a closer inspection of this picture in all of its beautifully detailed glory now. Greatest artist to walk this earth! I admire his relationship and connection with art and nature! I believe they were a people, who were very passionate and in tune with the laws of nature. What a time to have lived...

Did y'all know that Michael Jackson!! the king of pop!! he loved looking at art!! he said he could just look at painting and get lost in it!! yup that is what he said!! ( to me I'm not really into art!! I could say that my fave celebrity Michael Jackson I think yeah we did have some stuff in common but definitely!!! not all definitely not!! I know we didn't!! art is like I like some paintings but I never really was into arts and crafts coloring or drawing!! I have always been more into singing acting dancing reading writing directing!! and more things like that!! ya know!! but I never knew Michael personally but I did know a lot of things about him!! Vitruvius was a Roman architect and engineer during the 1st century BC, known for his multi-volume work titled De architectura.

I believe Da Vinci drew this as a model of a perfect, symmetrical man.
