Why are Marine Corps Drill Instructors always yelling and acting crazy towards recruits?
Correct answer: They are preparing young Marines for combat

doxierescued, The yelling is absolutely necessary. It is also used to weed out the ones that couldn't handle combat. It is the little voice you hear under duress that gives you the calmness to act and not freeze. After having a gun in my face on several occasions, I did not get scared, I got pissed.

Player #2660975, seriously??🤔🤯 Please do your homework before you label a group of individuals who are attempting to better themselves. Not only can you receive specialized training (not only weapons training, which constitutes a minor amount of your time) while in the service. You may (your option) go onto college and continue/complete your preferred occupation. Having said that, they will also be called up in times of disaster/disease/national security etc, etc. #2660975 your opinion is VALUED!!! All that is asked of you is to have knowledge that is correct to pass on to others. If I offended I am sorry, that was not what I was going for. Thank you 😊

When I was in boot camp, the drill sergeants knew when we started to tune them out... after the first month. that's when they stopped, for the most part. they had/have basic training down to a science.
