I have worked with many Downs Syndrome people in my time working with the intellectually handicapped. Unfortunately, many decline and pass away while in their 50s. I believe the oldest Downs Syndrome person I knew was 65 years old.

I guess I'm a miracle because nothing is wrong with me. And my aunt was born when my grandmother was 39 yrs old. Of course, that was before they had birth control.

I have worked with several “young” couples who have had a Downs child.
