I met Bob Hope in 1979 while working as Concierge at the Hyatt Phoenix. I knocked on the door of his suite ( like you're NEVER supposed to do!). His valet answered and I said I was a big fan of Mr. Hope and hoped I could get an autograph. Bob Hope, himself, invited me in and told me to have a seat next to him. We chatted for a bit and he said he was working on his next special and showed me parts of it. He then asked where I would like him to sign his name. Of course, I wasn't prepared ( being only 19 yrs old!) but I remembered I had a handwritten recipe book that my mother had made for me of all her best dishes in my purse. So, I pulled it out and turned to the last page...that's where he signed his name. He was so down to earth and gracious and kind. I will never forget that day!

PlayerD2,
So true. Immigrants are the strength of a nation. They're new, they have dreams, they believe in their adopted country, and they work hard. Any country that is short-sighted enough to shut out immigrants suffers in many ways, including financially.
