papa261, Remember that Bob Hope was an immigrant. He chose to be an American. Immigrants do so much for this country. Immigrants made America.

It’s too bad the two houses don’t work together like that now on serious issues facing us.

I met Bob Hope in 1979 while working as Concierge at the Hyatt Phoenix. I knocked on the door of his suite ( like you're NEVER supposed to do!). His valet answered and I said I was a big fan of Mr. Hope and hoped I could get an autograph. Bob Hope, himself, invited me in and told me to have a seat next to him. We chatted for a bit and he said he was working on his next special and showed me parts of it. He then asked where I would like him to sign his name. Of course, I wasn't prepared ( being only 19 yrs old!) but I remembered I had a handwritten recipe book that my mother had made for me of all her best dishes in my purse. So, I pulled it out and turned to the last page...that's where he signed his name. He was so down to earth and gracious and kind. I will never forget that day!

this is my 100th level!! great first question!! went to an air show tributed to him in 98 and saw the stealth. soo awesome! Thank You Bob Hope!

PlayerD2, So true. Immigrants are the strength of a nation. They're new, they have dreams, they believe in their adopted country, and they work hard. Any country that is short-sighted enough to shut out immigrants suffers in many ways, including financially.

Bob Hope spent Christmas away from home and with our troops for 50 years. He is a legend in the truest sense of the word.

Always loved Bob Hope. He was always an Incredible actor and performer - wish I could have met him.

The helicopter taking our mail crashed in the Mediterranean Sea. They said most mail was recovered. Mine wasn't.

Had a picture made, and sent it to my mother in the mail. Never reached her.

When I was in Beirut, I had the pleasure of shaking has hand.

PlayerD2, yes that is true to a point. they came and contributed to the country. now they come with hands out for support an make us post in THEIR language. not happening in other countries you go their an see how much help u get

I saw him in Nam in1968. I think Ann-Margret was with him. Hard to believe it was 52 years ago

In the late 60’s, when my father was stationed in the Philippines during the Vietnam War, I went to see him perform with my friend and her mom. What a great honor and Bob Hope deserves it for the the shows he did for military personnel!

An honor he richly deserved. He and the rest of the USO show entertainers did so much to help boost the moral of service members so far from home.

Whenever he appeared on TV,I watched him ,his movies,& the Academy Awards. After his death,I contacted Linda Hope

I was fortunate enough to see Mr. Hope at Rhein Main Air Base!
