mac, I heard it eas called 'the mother-in-law' plant because the nectar inside can make you loose your ability to vocalize (talk). just something I heard back in the 70's (yes, I'm old)

I have 3 and they are finally doing nicely. The local nursery told me how to care for them. I was watering g them way to much and the roots were rotting from being wet all the time. They propagate by starting new plants at the base of the old plant.
