Fun fact...a typo on paperwork had led to the recruitment of a scientist who had a field that was one letter off from cryptography. However due to the secrecy of the project he was confined to stay there even after explaining their mistake. The irony there is that when they were finally able to recover a code book it was badly damaged due to sea water and since he studied organisms pertaining to the ocean he was able to use sheets that were able to absorb the water from the pages which in turn allowed the right people to finally crack the enigma code. So in essence their typo and mistake actually turned out to be a futurist mistake certainly saving countless lives in the end.

Alan Turing broke the Enigma Code and was part responsible for the Allied victory during WWII. He was later found 'guilty' of homosexuality, imprisoned and made to take hormonal drugs...a real stain on our history. Was only pardoned in recent years. A true war hero!

I live not far from Bletchley Park, where Alan Turing and his team broke the Enigma code. It's a fascinating place and if you get the chance please do visit. It is also home to the National (UK) Computer Museum, as Turing pretty much invented computer science and the idea of the computer.

Player #26129643, I'm a Brit. I think we should give the Americans more credit on this front. I'm sure they realise Hollywood's main focus is entertainment (which at times is outstanding) rather than historical accuracy. And I'm sure every single British film ever made is 100% historically accurate. ;))

LoopyLynda74, if you are going to tell such long detailed and super unlikely stories like that, then you need to also provide some reference to verify it. I don't believe this
