Player #4544197, They did spell it correctly. Didn't you know that it is spelled metre in all English speaking countries except America? That should tell you something. That's like the one person in a marching band who's "out of step" , claiming they're the only one who is "in step" :)

In Canada, we are officially metric. However, unofficially in everyday life we're more like half and half. We buy our milk in liters, but use a cup of milk in a recipe. When you ask how far it is between two neighbouring towns, we'll say ten klicks (klick is slang for kilometers). But if you ask us how tall we are, we answer in feet and inches. Oh! and we also measure far distances by time. How far is it between Winnipeg and Regina? About eight hours.

Flooffd, Many of us Americans would love to switch to metric. It is so logical. It would take a little time to get the feel of the units, but converting from one metric unit to another is a breeze. I was a kid when Canada switched in the late 60s, and thought that we would switch to metric within the next 10 years after the Canadians, but alas, I'm still waiting.
