MoodyChef92025, I was there too. I was at work in Mountain View and had to cross the Dumbarton to get home. Never been so scared in my life because I knew a portion on the Bay Bridge had collapsed and the Dumbarton is much older. You could see people in other cars breathing a sigh of relief when we reached the other side.

I was sitting 6 rows back behind home plate. It swayed so much then the stadium got so loud. I thought the blimp has exploded or something. People was dead silent until it stopped. About 30 seconds. Close to pure panic. Then it stopped and everyone cheered like someone hit a home run. We waited over an hour for the game to start. There was no PA system. No one knew the game was cancelled. Took us over 5 hours to get home where normally it would only take an hour. Will never forget that day.

I live in Stockton, Ca. it's about 80 miles away from San Francisco, but we felt it! I was in a bus, sitting in the back. A group of teens were seated near me, when the bus began to shake, the bus driver yelled at the kids! H thought the teens were responsible for the shaking. A kid got on at the next stop and yelled, Did you feel the earthquake?? Everyone on the bus started yelling! The bus driver apologized to the teens for yelling at them.

luckycatfay, I remember. my husband worked iñ SF and took the bay bridge to and from work. I was worried he was on the bridge at the time. he stayed in SF that night. we lived across the bay and our kids and I were getting ready to watch the game....all of a sudden the TV went black and my first thought was that we wouldn't be able to watch the game....then our house started shaking... everything was fine but it was very unnerving. now I live in Louisiana and have to think about hurricanes and an occasional tornado....think I'd rather have an earthquake...

Was in San Mateo, on the peninsula, changing clothes (of course!)-I stood in the doorway until I started to hear stuff falling off shelves, then I bolted outside, nearly slipping on dishwater-that had splashed out of the sink! There was a ton of water pouring down our neighbors driveway from his in-ground swimming pool!! Terrifying!!
